About Us

All our Funeral Directors are qualified and have served a great number of families in Diss and the surrounding villages. Rosedale Funeral Home was established to enable us to follow our desire to work for an independent family business, where we can focus on the needs of the bereaved families.

We have established our premises at Rosedale House, incorporating the original lounge and a beautiful rose garden sponsored by Peter Beales Roses. We run a 24 hour personal service and it is a pleasure to be able to bring a much needed service to the people of Diss and the surrounding areas.

Alec Butcher

Alec Butcher is a qualified Funeral Director with many years experience and joined Rosedale not long after its inception, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge, the highest of standards and impeccable attention to detail.

Alec is an adventurer at heart, and has participated in many self-planned charity challenges, most notably the Three Peaks Challenge and canoeing across Scotland, raising thousands of pounds for charities close to his heart. He can be seen out and about on his pedal cycle most days, whilst holidays usually involve touring on his Harley Davidson.

Christian Fairbrother

Christian Fairbrother was born in Ipswich before moving to Eye where he grew up and attended Hartismere High School, and then Diss Sixth Form.   He has lived in Diss for the last twelve years with his wife Julia.  Christian worked in payroll before joining Rosedale, initially at Hamlin Electronics in Diss where he met Julia, before moving on to Suffolk New College in Ipswich.  He has commenced his studies for the Diploma in Funeral Directing and in his spare time enjoys jogging, watching football and Formula 1, camping trips as well as spending time relaxing with family and friends.

Liz Chapman

Liz Chapman lives in Diss with her husband Rod to whom she has been married for over 40 years. They have two married daughters, Jo and Claire, and four grandchildren Ben, Holly, Sam and Gemma. Liz is an enthusiastic gardener and along with Rod is an Elder and active member of St. Mary’s Church, Burgate. Liz is qualified in the funeral profession and has over 20 years experience serving bereaved families in Diss and Bungay.
