Rosedale’s bereavement dog, Buzz, is turning three on Saturday 15th August.
He has been assisting bereaved families since the tender age of 8 weeks old and can be found either sat quietly on one of our families laps or greeting everyone at the door.
He has become a little celebrity in his own right and his human mummy, Beverley, is now more commonly called ‘Buzz’s Mum’ than she is her own name.
Here at Rosedale, we learnt just how healing and therapeutic animals can be especially during a time of great loss when we carried out our Animal Crackers campaign and having a bereavement dog was something that we thought could only be positive.
We appreciate how difficult walking into a funeral home can be and it has been lovely to see, first hand, people instantly relaxing and interacting as soon as Buzz greets them with his waggy tail and little terrier smile.
