Diss Charity Quiz
6 September @ 7:00 pm£5
The Diss branch of Rosedale Funeral Home is hosting a charity quiz to raise money for two causes: Link to Hope and Diss Youth Group.
Link to Hope’s aim is to combat poverty and give humanitarian aid for the most disadvantaged, people struggling to survive in poor villages that lack basic amenities. Link to Hope’s vision is that one day every person in Eastern Europe will have a safe environment to live in and access to basic healthcare, human rights, employment and education.
Diss Youth Group offers a safe space for young people to explore issues, try new activities, get involved in the community and gain support from a team of trained youth workers and volunteers. They also hold monthly well-being sessions to enable young people to focus on their own well-being in a calm, safe and nurturing environment. It also provides volunteering opportunities for older teenagers enabling them to develop skills for their future.
The quiz will be held at Diss Football Club on Friday 6th September 2019 and doors open at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start. Tickets are £5 per person with teams of 4 to 6 people. A bar is available and you are welcome to bring your own nibbles. There will also be a prize drawer with prizes generously donated by local businesses.
On Wednesday 9th October 2019 we will be holding a ‘wrapping party’ at St. Mary’s Church Hall, Diss for the Link to Hope shoe box appeal – we will supply mince pies and mulled wine (non-alcoholic). We will be collecting items at the quiz and filling and wrapping the shoe boxes on the 9th October ready to be sent away at the beginning of November.
Anyone that brings two of the following to the quiz:
gloves, scarf, hat, soap, flannel, toothbrush, toothpaste, candles and holders, colouring pencils/crayons, A5 colouring pads, small toy, magnifier/reading glasses, hot water bottle, work gloves, pens, socks/tights, windup radio/torch
will be given a free raffle ticket for the prize drawer.
