Father's Day Book of Remembrance

With Father’s Day fast approaching, and as Covid-19 means we are unable to open the funeral homes to enable you to write in our book of remembrance this year, we feel it is important for everyone to have a space to pay a tribute.

Father’s Day is a tough day for many who for lots of reasons are unable to be with their fathers this year and a difficult day for fathers unable to be with their children. It may be due to death, distance or a dissolved relationship.

If you would like to leave a message in memory of your loved one or just post some thoughts if you are separated from your Dad this year, please enter your name, your loved one’s name and your message below. It is also possible to upload a picture and we will aim to post your message on this page as soon as possible.

We have placed a candle here to encourage you, if you wish, to light a candle safely and come together with us at 12 noon on Father’s Day to remember your loved one.

Hi Dad, Has it been over a year? It only seems like yesterday. I just want to tell you how lucky I am to have had such an amazing Dad. All our adventures across Africa , my trip to India and more recently Ukraine and Albania, life was never dull Dad! But most of all I want to tell you how much of an inspiration you have been to me, how you helped me to be brave and not settle for second best. For being the best Grandad to Megan and always telling her how proud you were of her! For being the person I looked up to and my hero, I miss you everyday Dad and wish I could tell you in person ‘Happy Fathers Dad to the Best Dad in the world!” . Love you Dad Always and forever xx To my Dad, and my forever best friend xx miss you more than I can ever express; but know that in every wonderful, beautiful, joyous moment we have- you are still, and always will be, part of it all xxx

It seems so long ago now. What did you try to say to me that last day? How do you think I’ve turned out? I wish I’d got to know you more. Did you mind me sending off for your army records? I wish you hadn’t left me. Are you with Sandra? Tell her I miss her.
