From Rosedale, with love

Shoebox charity appeal from Norfolk and Suffolk Funeral Home

Staff at Rosedale Funeral Home have been busy all year, wrapping and packing shoe boxes for Link to Hope’s Christmas Appeal.

More than 400 shoe boxes have already been filled with toys and practical gifts, such as toothbrushes, soap, notebooks and colouring pencils and will be hand delivered to families and the elderly who need them most in Romania, Moldava, Ukraine and Bulgaria.

“We set ourselves a target to try and organise more than 500 shoe boxes every year and with lots of help from local residents, we should be able to manage it again this year.” says Funeral arranger Kathryn Robinson. “We couldn’t have reached this massive achievement without the help of other people in the community who have been so generous, particularly our army of knitters who have been busy with their needles all year, knitting little bags, mittens, scarves and glove puppets.”

Rosedale are really proud to contribute to such a fantastic project. They will continue their efforts until the deadline of 6th November, including hosting a wrap and fill party at Beccles on 16th October where all are welcome to drop in with empty shoe boxes and join in the fun. Rosedale are also glad to receive empty shoe boxes or donated items to pack inside at any time of the year. For a full list of the items required, you can call in to any branch of Rosedale Funeral Home, or visit our Facebook page.
