Funeral Bereavement Support

Sarah Howard has been our bereavement support group facilitator for almost 3 years now.  She and Beverley run groups in Diss, Attleborough and Wymondham. She used to be a primary school teacher and then a lecturer in a further education college.  After a break to have her 2 sons, she started volunteering at the Norwich charity Time Norfolk which provides counselling support for those who have experienced any kind of pregnancy loss. She loved the work and decided to study for levels 2 and 3 in counselling which led her to the bereavement work she does with Rosedale.  It is a privilege to come alongside those who are bereaved and to help them through what is often a very dark time. Rosedale continue the groups with a monthly social follow on group for those who want to keep in touch.

Sarah’s favourite way to relax and clear her head is by taking long country walks around her village with her black miniature schnauzer, Lexi. Whenever time and weather allows, she also loves to drive up to the North Norfolk coast for cliff top walks with her family and Lexi, and eat fish and chips on the beach watching the amazing sun sets.

She is an avid reader of all sorts of books, does yoga and pilates, attends Soul Church in Norwich and also works as an unpaid taxi driver for her two sons!

Sarah loves working at Rosedale because it feels like a big family, everyone is very friendly and helpful and there is a holistic, caring ethos which supports both staff and the families who come to us.
