Arranging a funeral Rosedale

Planning your own funeral

Most of us, as we get older, expect to provide the money to meet our funeral expenses. We’re not morbid, it’s to do with independence, responsibility and leaving everything in order for our relatives and friends.

We don’t often talk about it – because there’s no need to – but the fact is that funerals cost money and we want to take care of the cost.

Pre-planned funerals are something many people are deciding to arrange for themselves, which we are very happy to help with.

Pre-planning your funeral in advance may especially suit:

  • those with no one capable or willing to make funeral arrangements at the time of their death
  • those who have definite wishes about their funeral and want to be sure that these wishes are known and incorporated into the funeral
  • those who simply want to offer some guidelines to their survivors regarding their funeral arrangements

Funeral wishes

If you don’t wish or don’t currently have the available funds to purchase a pre-paid funeral plan, you can still write down your funeral wishes and get your affairs in order. Please find below a link to our ‘Planning for the Future’ leaflet, which aims to guide you through the process of pre-planning your funeral, and also help your relatives and the executors to your will by indicating your wishes clearly.

Rosedale Funeral Home has put together a useful guide for those wishing to share their wishes for their own funeral with their friends and family which is available to download here – Planning for the Future.

“Death never takes a wise man by surprise – he is always ready to go”
