Walk of Remembrance 2024

We are once again inviting families who have lost a loved one to join us for our popular Walk of Remembrance which has been held annually in both Norfolk and Suffolk for many years.

Everyone is warmly invited to join us – you do not have to be a family we have looked after at Rosedale. If you would like to remember a loved one, we hope to see you there. Please feel free to bring along your family and friends including four legged ones, so we can all take the time together to remember those we have lost.

Walk of Remembrance 2024 - Norfolk

Where: Diss Park by The Mere
When: Sunday 12th May at 12noon

Following one minute of silence, a dove release will mark the start of the walks, which begins at 12 noon from The Mere, Diss.

There are two circular routes around the market town of Diss and surrounding countryside to choose from, a one mile one and a three mile one (which incorporates the local village of Palgrave and the River Waveney). Each walk offers the opportunity to visit St Mary’s Church where you can write a message in our Book of Remembrance and the light a candle.

Walk of Remembrance 2024 - Suffolk

Where: Beccles Marshes by the Information Point
When: Sunday 5th May at 11.00am

After a one minute silence, a dove release will mark the start of the walk, There are two circular routes around Beccles marshes again this year, a 3 mile walk and a shorter route of one mile.

Following the walk, everyone is invited to join us for refreshments where there will be a special Book of Remembrance for families to leave a message and the opportunity to light a candle.

The walk is an opportunity to remember a loved one whilst enjoying the beautiful local scenery on what we hope will be a memorable spring day,” says Christian Fairbrother, Funeral Director at Rosedale Diss. “Please feel free to bring along your family and friends including four legged friends, so we can all take the time together to remember those we have lost. The Walks of Remembrance are a way for the staff at Rosedale to give something back to our families, and to let you know that you are never far from our thoughts as well as supporting those who are bereaved in our local community.

“The Walk of Remembrance is a way for us here at Rosedale to give back to the many families that we have looked after but it is also open to anyone who has been bereaved of a loved one,” said Lucy Coote, Funeral Administrator at Rosedale. “We hope that the whole family will come along and enjoy the popular Beccles Marshes walks, take in their peaceful surroundings and see the abundance of wildlife on the edge of this charming Waveney market town as well as offering families and individuals the opportunity and time to reflect and remember their loved ones.”
